Many viewers of the blog trade commodities on a regular basis and Cattle futures too…. yet even if you don’t trade Cattle, you might want to keep an eye on what Cattle do from here! Why???
In 2008, Cattle were one of the last Commodities to hold their value, before falling hard and GE1 went into full swing!!!
Nice place to short Cattle at resistance and then if a breakout does take place, follow it!
Marco…prior weekly closing highs in Cattle took place at $122 and the front month contract right now is trading lower than that level. You looking at the Dec contract? If so the Dec contract highs were $125..so in either case, no breakout at this time.
An FYI…if Cattle doe break the double top, I will follow!

do you think a breackout has taken place with “Cattle” at 123.40 today ?
Investor X…good one! I have several very good freinds that are ranchers, awesome people that work hard. For them a breakout would be great, which could happen, I would follow it if it does.
Don’t ask a Cattle Rancher how many cows he has, that is like asking how much money he has in the bank
Hey Bob….Grains have been hit pretty hard of late, some grains already down 30%. Wheat is on some key support… I would need to see Wheat/other grains break a new support level before picking up AGA.
If GE2 would take place, I suspect AGA would end up doing you well, just rather buy a 2x short up resistance.
Chris
cjk…. Funny comment as always! Per shorting….futures or put options.
Would you recommend picking up AGA to score on defense?
Chris –
I have heard of cattle tipping, but I am not familiar with cattle shorting. How do you do this?
Have a good day.
