Yes the S&P 500 is within a small percentage of new all-time highs, which is a great sign for the markets and portfolios. Could the shut down in Washington end at any moment and push the S&P 500 higher?  Of late though, what has been hot?

Over the past 30 day, the S&P 500 is flat, yet the out of favor emerging markets are have made some nice gains and are reflecting relative strength compared to most of the stock markets around the world.

Emerging Markets (EEM), Brazil (EWZ), India (EPI) to name a few, find themselves at very unique price & pattern situations RIGHT NOW! If one believes in the ole adage of “Buy Low and Sell higher” these out of favor markets could continue this out performance if a couple of things happen on the pattern front!
